Coney Island Beach and Boardwalk
Coney Island's beach and boardwalk are free and accessed by Q or D train from Midtown (45 minutes). The boardwalk extends east to Brighton Beach, the Russian neighborhood with Black Sea seafood restaurants and Cyrillic signage. Nathan's Famous hot dogs since 1916, the 1927 Cyclone, and 2 miles of free boardwalk. Luna Park rides are separate. Best in summer, worth visiting in shoulder season.

Tips
- Beach entry is free year-round; lifeguards are seasonal (June–Labor Day).
- The D train to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue is the most direct route from Manhattan.
