Kamakura Great Buddha & Coastal Temples
Younger kids are stopped by the scale; older ones start asking how it was built without modern equipment. Both get the moment of stepping inside the hollow Buddha through its side windows — the bronze interior is cool and the construction marks are visible. Hasedera Temple has different draws for different ages: the cave shrine appeals to kids looking for exploration, while the coastal views from the upper garden work better for anyone who wants a proper vantage point.
