East Side Gallery
Walking the East Side Gallery together generates more discussion than most structured museum visits, each mural provokes different questions at different ages. Younger kids respond to the visual drama; teens can follow the political and historical dimensions. The 1.3km walk is linear and self-directing: start at Ostbahnhof, end at Oberbaum Bridge, stop wherever interests you. The visitor centre at the western end supplies background for those who want it. Free, outdoor, no booking required.
