A quick bakery stop before Tivoli opens at 10:00. Lagkagehuset near Central Station does the best pastries in Copenhagen, the wienerbrød (Danish pastry, far better than anything called a 'Danish' outside Denmark) and hot chocolate. A plate of small pastries to share, hot drinks for adults, and a fresh juice for toddlers is the right setup. The station forecourt is flat and good for a brief toddler walk while adults finish their coffee.

Tivoli is one of the best toddler environments in Europe, a 19th-century pleasure garden with rides for every age, flower beds to wander through, music in the bandstand, and food stalls serving æbleskiver (round pancake balls with jam). The toddler-specific rides are in the H.C. Andersen area of the park, gentle carousels, small trains, and spinning teacups at exactly the right scale. The park is completely flat with wide paths, stroller-accessible throughout. The whole experience has a slightly dreamy quality (the park opens at 10:00 in the morning light, before the crowds arrive) that works particularly well for toddlers who haven't yet developed the 'more rides, faster' instinct of older kids.

Lunch either inside Tivoli (expensive but convenient, the Faergekroen by the lake does basic Danish food including æggekage, a Danish egg pancake that's reliably popular with toddlers) or just outside the gate at one of the Vesterbro cafés. The goal is to eat by 12:45 to protect the hotel nap window. Avoid the full sit-down restaurant option inside Tivoli, too slow for a tired post-morning toddler.

Hotel nap. Most Copenhagen hotels are in the Vesterbro or inner city area, 10–15 minutes from Tivoli. A 2-hour nap starting at 13:15–13:30 allows a clean afternoon activity and 19:00 dinner. Copenhagen summer evenings are very long (sunset as late as 21:30 in June), which helps with toddler sleep schedules, keep blackout curtains closed during the nap.
